Routing

Every day is built backward from the apex moment: Saturday 5:30 PM Super Mega Raid. Thursday earns the insurance voucher. Friday is pure citywide grind. Saturday closes at Lou Malnati's with the Utah Valley crew. Sunday is final cleanup + Cubs vs Giants at Wrigley. Monday is Field Museum + Pokémon Fossil Museum, then the plane.

2:00-2:15Recruitment (yellow)Enter via official entry: S Columbus + E Jackson (closer to Pop-Up Store) or S Columbus + E Balbo (closer to Hutchinson Field) · Open Zeraora Special Research · Mega-evolve Gengar IMMEDIATELY from stockpiled energy (don't wait — normal Mega Raids in park session are NOT confirmed; you need Mega Gengar active for the SMR shield)
2:15-3:00RecruitmentBurn through regular 5★ raids (Mewtwo, Zapdos, Raikou) · use Trainer Belonging Base for Mobility Charging if needed. Normal Mega Raids in the park session are NOT confirmed by Niantic — treat any as a bonus.
3:00-4:15GO Rocket Hideout (red)4 SHADOW LEGENDARIES · Zapdos, Raikou, Kyogre, Groudon · in-park only, no remote invites · also expect Sierra battle quests here (Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra is the in-park antagonist — Spark/Instinct narrative). If running short on time, drop Shadow Zapdos last (weakest attacker meta).
Sierra lineup (current rotation — GO Fest variant may differ): Slot 1 catch = Shadow Duskull · Lineup 2 = Shadow Flygon / Blastoise / Ferrothorn · Lineup 3 = Shadow Milotic / Houndoom / Steelix · Rewards: 3 Shadow Shards + 1,000 Stardust + 2 item bundles.

Arrive ≥10 min early to your assigned gym; capacity managed by Niantic.
5:25-5:29Premier Access Lounge if your designated gym is near it (otherwise stay at your assigned gym)Final counter-team review · Mega Gengar already evolved (Ghost doctrine — SE on both X and Y) · phone ≥70%
5:30-6:00UNITY RAID at your assigned gymMega Mewtwo X & Y · 1000-trainer capacity · catch arrives at Mega Level 1, 2, or 3 · ~300 Mega Energy per kill (Tokyo-observed) · finishing move = Unity Attack (phone raised overhead) · no shields, no Mega prerequisite, no flee allowed once entered

Post-park (6:00 – 10:00 PM)

6:00 PM
Park session ends · exit Grant Park
6:00–6:40 PM
Walk north toward River North · option: drop park gear at Palmer House on the way (~10 min detour) then continue. Direct walk to Lou Malnati's is ~25 min from Hutchinson Field NW exit / ~18 min from Palmer House. CTA alternative: Brown Line Adams/Wabash → Merchandise Mart + 5 min walk.
🍕 6:45 PM

If energy remains: late raids on the walk south back to Palmer House · Marina City / River North gyms light up on the route
10:00 PM
Sleep · you've earned it

Targets: Mega Mewtwo X & Y caught · all 4 Shadow legendaries · Zeraora SR complete · costume shinies · 80+ total raids (in-park lobbies are fast, often sub-2-min · pre-park citywide adds 25-30 raids on top of in-park).

Sun June 07

Final Citywide + Cubs Game

6:30 AM
Slightly later wake — Saturday will leave you tired
6:30–8:00 AM
DAI + Cloud Gate area loop. Cleanup: specific shinies, missed Mewtwo IVs.
9:00 AM–12:30 PM
Loop / Prudential / River-N raids · exclusively Mewtwo · remote invite if solo lobbies
12:30 PM
Lunch · Pizzeria Uno (29 E Ohio) or Lou Mitchell's (565 W Jackson)
1:30–4:30 PM
Museum Campus + Lakefront-south circuit. Final 10 km egg hatches. (Cut 90 min short vs original plan — you're heading north tonight.)
4:30–5:15 PM
Back to Palmer · freshen up · lighter layer (Wrigley nights are chilly) · phone to 100%
5:15–5:45 PM
Quick early dinner near Palmer · OR plan ballpark dog at Wrigley (more on-theme)
6:45 PM
Red Line "Howard" northbound from Monroe → Addison (~25 min) · expect crowded car · cell signal dies in tunnels
7:15 PM
Arrive Wrigley (gates typically open ~2 hrs before a night game)
7:15–8:00 PM
Pre-game Wrigley mini-loop · gyms within 2 blocks of the stadium are dense (Cubs Park, Murphy's Bleachers, Sluggers) · 6-10 quick raids
⚾ 8:00 PM
Enter Wrigley · Section 213 · Row 3 · Seat 23 (upper level, third-base side)
⚾ 8:30 PM
First pitch · Cubs vs San Francisco Giants (national NBC/Peacock primetime game — NOT the usual 1:20 PM Sunday slot) · spin in-stadium PokéStops between innings · don't raid through innings · this is the experience
~11:30 PM–12 AM
Game ends · crowd surge through Addison station
11:45 PM–12:30 AM
Choose: (a) direct Red Line southbound (jammed, may wait 1-2 trains), or (b) walk the Wrigleyville raid loop for 20 min while station empties · gain 8-10 raids · much easier train
~12:45 AM
Sleep · late finish — Monday's Field Museum line-drop wake is ~5:45 AM, so this is the trip's shortest night. The cap of GO Fest weekend is the game, not raids.
Mon June 08

Field Museum + Departure

5:45 AM
Wake (15 min earlier than original plan — line-drop priority)
6:00–6:45 AM
Quick lakefront warmup · activate Daily Adventure Incense · short raid sweep around Cloud Gate cluster · skip the long lakefront walk — line position matters more than the final-morning grind
6:45–7:15 AM
Back to Palmer · pack · last shower · all gear in carry-on (2 power banks + cooler) · 3rd bank ready for UPS Store later
7:15 AM
Check out (early — beat the 11 AM rush) · Palmer House holds luggage
7:15–7:45 AM
Walk south to Field Museum via Grant Park (~25 min, 1.2 mi) · DAI still running · spin stops along Michigan Ave · Bus 146 from Michigan/Monroe is the rain backup
🚧 7:45–9:00 AM
Line-drop at the Field Museum main entrance · target: be among the first 10-20 in the General Admission queue · most museum-goers don't show up until 9:30+ so a 7:45 arrival puts you near the front · bring water + light snack (the wait is 75 min) · do NOT use the snapshot bonus or start Timed Research yet — those activate when you cross the museum threshold
🎟️ 9:00 AM · doors open
Field Museum General Admission ($30) · SPRINT to the Field Museum Store FIRST to grab the Excavator Pikachu Plush (1-per-customer limit · sells out fast on event-day mornings) plus any other Fossil Museum merch (5-item cap per customer) · only after merch is locked, walk back to the museum proper and let PoGo content activate
9:15 AM
⛏️ PoGo Fossil Museum gameplay activates now · pause Lucky Egg + Star Piece (Fossil Museum bonuses replace them, don't stack) · start Timed Research immediately for Excavator Pikachu · keep an eye on raid lobby spawns
9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Self-guided museum exploration · do in-person raids: Mega Aerodactyl (Rock/Flying, use Shadow Tyranitar or Black Kyurem) and Excavator Pikachu raids — both shiny-eligible · "at no cost" = no premium pass required, but each raid still consumes a Daily Raid Pass or Premium from inventory (Mon isn't ticketed, so only 1 free Daily pass — Premium stockpile covers the rest) · catch fossil Pokémon wild spawns nearby (Aerodactyl/Tirtouga/Cradily/Bastiodon line) · take a few snapshots for the bonus · stake out the Pokémon Fossil Museum entry by 12:00 PM
🎟️ 12:15 PM
Pokémon Fossil Museum · ~$20 timed-entry add-on · 60-90 min · fossils cross-referenced with Pokémon designs (Aerodactyl/Pterodactyl, Tirtouga/Archelon, Cradily/Crinoids, Bastiodon/Triceratops)
1:45–2:45 PM
Lunch · Field Bistro (in-museum, fast) or Eleven City Diner (1112 S Wabash, 10 min walk toward Palmer). Take the extra time.
2:45–3:15 PM
Linger or walk back · pick one: (a) more museum (Sue, Hall of Gems) · (b) slow raid-walk north through Grant Park · (c) direct walk back to Palmer
3:15–3:30 PM
Retrieve luggage + 3 Anker Primes from Palmer bell stand · keep banks in original boxes
📦 3:30–4:00 PM
UPS Store · 175 W Jackson Blvd (5 min walk west of Palmer) · ship all 3 power banks home via UPS Ground · ~$30-50 total · declare "lithium battery, ground only" · arrives ~Thu Jun 11. This is why we're not carrying any banks on the flight.
4:00–4:15 PM
Walk back via Jackson → State → Monroe Blue Line entrance (~5 min)
4:30 PM
Blue Line "O'Hare" direction (~45 min)
5:30 PM
ORD · CLEAR lane (~10 min security) · gate by 6:00 PM
7:07 PM
First-class boarding (T-30) · settle in
7:37 PM
Delta 2376 departs · sleep on the plane

Why later ORD arrival is fine

Without status the rule is "2 hours before departure" = 5:37 PM at ORD. With CLEAR (security in ~10 min, no ID-check queue) plus first class boarding (no boarding-group stress), 60-70 min is comfortable. That hour goes back to the museum/Loop afternoon instead.
